"He kind of held the safety up so the safety wouldn't get over there and zipped it in there," Cotchery said. "That was a great ball."
Favre is cramming, trying to learn as much of the playbook as he can, and Eric Mangini wanted to remind everyone that the process still is in its early stages.
"There were a couple [of mistakes] in terms of the ballhandling where he went one way, the back went the other way," Mangini said. "We're 25 plays into it, so there's going to be some of that."
And some of this, too, Cotchery said, when it comes to playing with Favre: "I know it's going to be fun."
Notes & quotes: CB/KR Justin Miller and TE Bubba Franks practiced after sitting out Saturday. DE Shaun Ellis (hand), WR Marcus Henry (leg) and LB Jason Trusnik (foot) were out. CB Dwight Lowery ended up on the sideline the last half of the workout with what Mangini first termed "a few things," then narrowed down to "a leg." ... QB Brett Ratliff, who during May's organized team activities had the look of nothing more than training camp fodder, has gotten more and more reps with the first team. In a general sense, that's not unusual, as Mangini always tries to work backups in with the first team, but it is clear Ratliff's stock has skyrocketed. At this point, it's hard to imagine him not making the team.
